Matt Krause
Matt is a Californian who now lives in Turkey. He began his professional life as an import buyer, and since 2006 has been teaching companies how to connect with their investors and clients better. His clients work for companies like HSBC, Citibank, Allianz, and UniCredit.
Matt studied Chinese history at the University of Chicago. He has traveled to 22 countries and lived on three different continents.
In 2013 he finished a 2,100 kilometer walk across Turkey, which he did primarily “because it needed to be done, and not a lot of people do it.” The walk took him 7-1/2 months. It was profiled on television stations and in magazines, and Matt wrote a book about it.
Tuğba is from Izmir, one of Turkey’s most cosmopolitan cities. She began her career guiding international exhibitors at Izmir’s many trade fairs, and has taught English professionally for a large part of her professional life. She has worked with children on up through adults, beginners on up through advanced students.
Tuğba studied chemistry at Celal Bayar University in Turkey. She is a TESOL-certified English teacher, and even Matt, a native speaker of English, comes to her with grammar questions.
